We fabricated the roof portion of the technologically advanced, high-capacity freight car shown here for a market leading inter-modal railcar manufacturer.
In addition to lending design assistance to ensure the roof would be impenetrable in this high security application, we utilized our large scale roll forming expertise to fabricate these galvanized steel components. Featuring finished overall dimensions of 10’ in width and 89’ in length, we maintained precision ± 0.03125” tolerances on all dimensions, including length, width, squareness, and gauge, of this heavy duty roof structure. We also conducted a fit test using a template to guarantee the integrity of each roof section before these over-sized components were packed and shipped to the customer.
This project demonstrates the magnitude of some of the projects that we regularly process in our facility. It involved sourcing and inspecting of literally millions of pounds of high quality raw materials and strategically managing production in order to ship finished goods to the customer on a daily basis.
