CMI LEED Green Building Rating System Data Sheet
This LEED Green Building Rating System Data Sheet is provided as general information to help your LEED project team understand the materials CMI uses and determine if our materials can contribute towards earning LEED points for your project. It is the responsibility of the project team to determine if your project qualifies for certification. Each job that CMI produces is unique based on the metal that is used.
Materials & Resources Credit 4: Recycled Content intends to increase demand for building products that incorporate recycled content materials, thereby reducing impacts resulting from extraction and processing of virgin materials. (LEED 2009 for New Construction and Major Renovations)
Credit 4 (1-2 points) “Use materials with recycled content such that the sum of post-consumer recycled content plus one-half of the pre-consumer content constitutes at least 10% or 20% (based on cost) of the total value of the materials in the project” (LEED 2009 for New Construction and Major Renovations)
CMI’s products typically contain an average recycled content of 25%. Exact recycled content can be provided upon request.
Materials & Resources Credit 5: Regional Materials
Credit 5 (1-2 points) CMI’s products are manufactured in Belvidere, Illinois.
Please note it is the responsibility of your LEED project team to determine if your project is eligible for certification and whether Credit 4 for Recycled Content or Credit 5 for Regional Materials applies based on materials CMI supplies.
